I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Lawrence University. Until August 2021, I was an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Ashoka University, the first dedicated liberal arts university in India. I took leave from Ashoka from October 2018 to June 2020 while I was a Kit Fine Fellow in the Phlox research group and the Department of Philosophy at Universität Hamburg. I received my Ph.D. in philosophy from the University of California, Davis in September 2015.  I was a visiting Ph.D. student in the School of Philosophy at The Australian National University from June to August 2014.  I received my M.A. in philosophy from the University of Wyoming in May 2008 and my B.A. in philosophy from the University of Montana in May 2005.

My research is focused primarily on grounding, philosophical regresses, and the natures of properties, relations, propositions, facts, and states of affairs.  I also have interests in other areas of metaphysics, including mereology, modality, and the philosophy of time and time travel. In addition, I have interests in other areas of philosophy, primarily in logic and the philosophies of mathematics and religion.
